Republican Phone Canvass Set for July 7 in Brandon

The Hillsborough County Republican Party seeks volunteers for "Super Saturday" phone canvassing. The first such drive is scheduled for July 7 at party headquarters on Oakfield Drive in Brandon.


The Hillsborough County Republican Party, based in Brandon, is hosting its first "Super Saturday" phone bank drive July 7, at the "Hillsborough Victory Office" on Oakfield Drive.

Volunteers are needed for one of four, three-hour shifts, starting at 9 a.m., noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

"Help us make phone calls to defeat Barack Obama in November and take back America," reads the call for for volunteers.

Aiming for a Mitt Romney victory in the 2012 Presidential Election, the local party is encouraging volunteers to sign up for the weekly phone bank, with giveaways in appreciation of their efforts.

Super Saturday prizes, "ranging from gift cards to Romney apparel," will be given to the one volunteer on each shift that places the most calls. In addition to this "Top Shift" award, their will be a "Recruiting Award," for the volunteer who brings the most friends, and a "Participation Prize" raffle.

All prizes reportedly will be distributed upon the completion of each shift.
