Hillsborough Neighborhoods Conference for Civic-Minded Residents

The 2011 Hillsborough County Neighborhoods Conference is scheduled for April 2 at the Dale Mabry Campus of Hillsborough Community College.

Twenty-four additional workshops have been scheduled for the 2011 Neighborhoods Conference hosted by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners and Office of Neighborhood Relations. 

The conference is set for 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on April 2, at the Dale Mabry campus of Hillsborough Community College. The campus is at 4011 Tampa Bay Blvd.

  • Anybody interested in community life.

Who has registered so far?

  • More than 100 representatives from neighborhood, civic, homeowner and crime watch associations throughout Greater Brandon and Hillsborough County.

What are some of the aims of the conference?

  • To build a sense of community and to improve neighborhood safety. Also, to offer tips for do-it-yourself home improvements, effective communication among neighbors, accessing public and private resources and working with government officials to improve the quality of community life. Also, the will be presented at the conference luncheon.

Other benefits of attendance?

  • Networking with citizens and association leaders and visiting more than 90 exhibit booths hosted by event sponsors and representatives from various Hillsborough County departments.

Is there a cost?

  • The cost to attend is $20. You can pay at the door. (Advance tickets, before March 24, had been sold at a $5 discount.)
