Newt Gingrich To Visit Sumatra Bistro for Private Breakfast

Sumatra Bistro's chief manager, Sam Rashid, said he will host Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich at the Oakfield Drive restaurant in Brandon on Jan. 24, a week before Florida's GOP primary.

With the visit coming one week before the Florida Republican Primary, held Jan. 31, the timing makes sense.

"At the end of the day, Florida is going to decide the nomination," Rashid said.

About 14 people had already signed up for the fundraiser as of Tuesday afternoon, Rashid said, with entry costing at least $500 a person.

"Remember your contribution will help protect our conservative values and spread the Speaker's conservative message," Rashid wrote on the Facebook event page.
