Seffner Man Killed After Being Struck in Crosswalk

Tanya K. Swift, 52, was struck by an SUV as he tried to cross the intersection of State Road 574 and Williams Road, the Florida Highway Patrol Reports.

A 52-year-old Seffner man was killed Tuesday night after he was struck by an SUV as he tried to cross the intersection of State Road 574 and Williams Road, according the Florida Highway Patrol.

Tanya K. Swift was crossing 574 (Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) at the crosswalk around 7:25 p.m. when he was hit by a Toyota Land Cruiser. The vehicle was traveling through a green light, FHP investigators said in a news release.

Swift was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

No charges had been filed against the driver, Fouad Ydree Salem, 75, as of Wednesday morning. The accident was not alcohol related, the FHP said. It remains under investigation.
