Selmon Expressway Lane Closing Announced

The reversible express lanes are shutting down for a few hours on Sunday and Monday.

Motorists who use the Selmon Expressway to get around might want to take note: The reversible express lanes are shutting down periodically over the next few days.

The closing is planned on Sunday, July 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again on Monday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. While the express lanes are closed, the  gates at Meridian Avenue and 34th Street will also close. The gates at the U.S. 301 ramp will remain open for east bound traffic, Sue Chrzan, Tampa Hillsborough County Expressway Authority spokeswoman wrote in an email to media.

Motorists can expect the express lanes to open for eastbound traffic at 2 p.m. on Sunday and at 4 p.m. on Monday.
