Are Hillsborough Public Schools Closed or Open on Friday, Oct. 19?
Thursday, Oct. 18, marks the last day of the first grading period for Hillsborough County public schools. What follows is a day off for students.
Note: This story has been corrected to reflect the correct dates for the end of the grading periods and for the non-student days in January and March. Additional days off have been added as well.
Hillsborough County public schools are closed for students on Friday, Oct. 19, which follows the final day of the first grading period for the 2012-13 school year.
The calendar calls for non-student days as well on Jan. 22 and on March 29. The second grading period (and first semester) ends Jan. 18. The third grading period ends March 28.

- Floriday State Fair Day (West Hillsborough County schools) — Feb. 8
- Strawberry Festival (East Hillsborough County schools) — March 4
- Spring Break – March 11-15
- Memorial Day — May 27
