Armwood Shuts Out Leto for Callahan's Milestone 200th Victory
The Armwood Hawks scored their third shutout of the season with a 49-0 win over the Falcons at Leto High School in Tampa on Sept. 21. Head Coach Sean Callahan had a milestone victory to savor as well.
The Armwood Hawks continue to dominate, with a 49-0 win against the Falcons at Leto High School on Sept. 21. It was Armwood's third, double-digit shutout of the season and Leto's fourth season loss.
For Sean Callahan, it marked his 200th victory as head coach of the Armwood High School football team. As noted in a Tampa Bay Times report, the "milestone victory comes on technical terms rather than official." This summer, the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) stripped the team's 2011 state title, and 25 wins over a two-season span, because of ineligible players.

Following the Leto win, the Hawks in 2012 have amassed 197 points, including 28 in its Sept. 7 loss to the Stallions (28-36). The Hawks shut out the Titans (30-0) on Sept. 14 and the Brandon Eagles (55-0) on Sept. 1. The Hawks scored a two-quarter preseason victory (35-0) against Gibbs on Aug. 31.
Armwood (3-1) is Hillsborough's perennial powerhouse — but not immune to following the rules. The FHSAA in June held the program accountable for using ineligible players and then stripped the team of its 2011 Class 6A state championship. The Hawks' 2010 state runner-up status was negated as well.

The Hillsborough County School Board on Sept. 11 officially adopted a new policy affecting student-athletes who transfer to new schools. (See, Armwood Sanctions Lead to New Hillsborough Student-Athlete Policy.)
Meanwhile, Armwood fans wear to the games black shirts with white letters that read: "We're Still Here."
