Back-to-School Bash Set for Homeschoolers

Tampa Bay HEAT will host a back-to-school event Aug. 11 in Brandon.

Brandon area homeschool students will get a taste of a variety of activities available to them during the upcoming school year when Tampa Bay HEAT hosts a Back-to-School Bash Aug. 11 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Homeschool Resource Center, 307 S. Parsons Ave. 

Tampa Bay HEAT is a Christian, nonprofit organization that encourages homeschool families that provides a variety of social, academic and athletic activities for homeschoolers.

The event will include rotating activities for kids to try including art, chess and fencing, and tables with information on homeschool classes and activities. In addition, Buy the Book and More, the homeschool educational bookstore will be open.

Classes for homeschoolers this year include drama, cake decorating, woodworking, tennis, Spanish, writing, choir/voice, photography, LEGOS, volleyball, soccer, golf, archery and karate.
