Dinner, Concert at Brandon High to Benefit School’s Orchestra

The meal will be catered by Carrabba's and will include chicken marsala, Caesar salad, pasta pomodoro, bread, a beverage and dessert.

Lovers of the good food and great music are in for a treat tonight, Oct. 11, at when the school hosts a concert and dinner to benefit the school’s orchestra.

A $15 ticket will open the door to a dinner and admission to an evening of music with one of the best high school orchestras in the area.

Funds from the event will go to the school's orchestra program that has been in existence for more than 40 years. The orchestra will celebrate its 45th sapphire anniversary with a concert next February.

The meal will be catered by Carrabba's and will include chicken marsala, Caesar salad, pasta pomodoro, bread, a beverage and dessert.

The meal will be served from 5:15 to 7:15 p.m. in the cafeteria at the school, 1101 Victoria St. The student orchestra will perform at 7:45 p.m. in the auditorium.

The orchestra is led by Donald Langland, only the fourth director the orchestra has had since its inception in 1967.

Langland was chosen 2011 Secondary Music Educator of the Year by the Florida Music Educators Association.
