The undefeated Durant Cougars, following last week's 38-28 win against the Newsome Wolves, travel to Gibsonton tonight, Oct. 26, to face the East Bay Indians.
Durant faces the Indians (3-4 overall, 2-1 in league play), ranked nationally and in the state at 5,832 and 310, respectively, according to MaxPreps.com.
East Bay comes off a stunning upset win (24-12) against Plant City on Oct. 18. The Indians this season also beat Lennard (43-9) and Riverview (33-14). East Bay's losses were to Steinbrenner (0-23), Bloomingdale (14-21), Newsome (22-30) and Gaither (18-33).
Meanwhile, the Cougars (7-0 overall, 3-0 in league play) are ranked 386 in the nation and 36 in the state, according to MaxPreps.com. The Cougars this season beat Freedom, Alonso, Brandon, Wharton, Plant City, Chamberlain and Newsome (see chart below).
The Oct. 26 contest kicks off 7:30 p.m. in East Bay, at 7710 Big Bend Road in Gibsonton.
Going into tonight's game, the Cougars in 2012 have amassed 254 points in seven outings, averaging out to 36 points per game.
