Eagles Football: Brandon at Home Against Sickles (Sept. 28)

The Brandon High Eagles, coming off a shutout loss at home to the Durant Cougars, take to the home field tonight to face the the Sickles Gryphons. Game time Sept. 28 at McLane Stadium is 7:30 p.m. (Meanwhile, the Armwood Hawks are set to play Jefferson at home.)

Brandon faces the Gryphons (2-1 overall, 1-0 in league play), ranked nationally and in the state at 1,043 and 88, respectively, according to MaxPreps.com.

Sickles dropped 67 spots nationally and 10 spots in the state. Sickles beat King (42-12) on Sept. 21 and Steinbrenner (34-10) on Aug. 31. The Gryphons lost to Wharton (27-29) on Sept. 7.

The Eagles (0-3 overall, 0-1 in league play) are ranked 6,723 in the nation and 341 in the state, according to MaxPreps.com. The team's national and state rankings dropped 557 and 17 spots, respectively.

Brandon's three losses were to the Durant Cougars (0-36) on Sept. 21, to the Freedom Patriots, in overtime, (14-20) on Sept. 14 and to the Armwood Hawks (55-0) on Sept. 1. The Eagles in preseason play beat the Blake High School Yellow Jackets (20-6) on Aug. 24.
