Free Back-To-School Immunizations, Physicals for Florida First-Timers

Free back-to-school physicals and immunizations for any child entering a Hillsborough County school for the first time in kindergarten through grade 12 have been scheduled for four Saturdays beginning July 28.

Hosted by the Hillsborough County Public School District and the Back-to-School Coalition of Hillsborough County, the physicals will be in Plant City, Carrollwood, Ruskin and Tampa.

Parents or legal guardians must accompany their children at all times and immunization records are required for children to receive free immunizations.  No sports, Head Start, or day care physicals will be available.

• July 28 — Florida Hospital, auditorium, 7171 North Dale Mabry Hwy., Tampa, 9 a.m. to noon (walk-ins only).

• Aug. 4 — Ed and Myrtle Lou Swindle Medical Arts Center, 1601 West Timerlane Drive, Plant City, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (appointment required).

• Aug 4 — Lee Davis Neighborhood Service Center 3402 North 22nd St., Tampa, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (immunizations in the Hargrett building). At 2002 East 26th Ave., appointment required.

• Aug. 11 — Blake High School, Project LINK/St. Josepht’s Hospital, 1701 North Blvd., Tampa, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., (appointment recommended, walk-ins welcome but limited).
