Give Back, Save at Westfield Brandon: Back-To-School Countdown (Day 14)

The Brandon Patch Back-To-School Countdown proceeds with this Day 14 report, offering news of interset as the first day of classes approaches.

Teachers in the Hillsborough County School District go back to school Aug. 15 to prepare for the first day of classes, Aug. 23.

The shopping mall is gearing up for the back-to-school season with an opportunity to give back to your school with purchases made Aug. 1-12.

To sweeten the deal, a "Discount Guide" offers back-to-school values from stores throughout the mall.

"Give Back To School" Details:

• Spend a dollar and score a point for your school. The school with the most points wins $2,500. Log your receipts and register your school selection at the Westfield Concierge desk or management office.

• Collect on behalf of your school an additional 100 "bonus" points when you "like" Wesfield on Facebook  and register your school.

• Concierge hours are Monday-Saturday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Also, Sundays, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Also worthy of note:

No-Sales-Tax Shopping:

• Purchase clothing, footwear and certain accessories for $75 and less, and save the sales tax from 10 a.m. Aug. 12 to 9 p.m. Aug. 14. Also, save the sales tax on certain school supplies selling for $15 or less. Books are not included in this year's sales tax holiday.

Kiwanis "Stuff the Bus"

• Bring gently used clothes and backpacks to the mall and drop them off in collection bins on behalf of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Brandon's "Stuff the Bus" campaign to provide children in need with with necessary school supplies.

• Supplied being collected are paper, notebooks, pencils, pens, backpacks, scissors, crayons and pocket folders.
