Stuff the Bus, Join the Y for Free in Brandon (Aug. 4)

The Back-to-School Bash at the Brandon Family YMCA aims to help Stuff the Bus for the Brandon Kiwanis club. Donate school supplies, shred documents, take pictures with Star Wars characters, learn about child safety, health care and physicals.

 

The Brandon Family YMCA on Kingsway Raod in Seffner is a chance to help Stuff the Bus with school suppplies for the Kiwanis Club of Greater Brandon, which runs the drive each year to benefit children whose families have a hard time affording school supplies.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 4 at the Brandon Family YMCA at 3097 South Kingsway Road in Seffner.

Here's what's on tap:

  • Donate school supplies and join the YMCA for free. Needed are backpacks, paper, notebooks, folders, pencils, pens, crayons, color pens, markers, scissors, rulers, protractors, compasses and more.
  • If you can't donate school supplies, enter with a cash donation of $5 per person, or $20 per family.
  • Bounce house, arts and crafts and free hot dogs.
  • Shred-It. Bring your old documents to be shredded.
  • Representatives from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office will be on hand for community outreach and to discuss child safety.
  • MedExpress will be on hand to provide information about health care and physicals.
