PatchCast: American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life at Riverview High School

The 2011 Relay For Life season in Eastern Hillsborough County kicked off March 25-27 with events at Bloomingdale, Newsome and Riverview high schools. Up this weekend: Brandon High and Burnett Middle School.

The American Cancer Society’s 2011 Relay For Life got off to a good start in Eastern Hillsborough County with three of the area’s six sites kicking off the season March 25-27.

Collectively, the three events — at Bloomingdale, Newsome and Riverview high schools — drew 138 teams and 2,331 participants and collected, as of April 1, $238,933.02 for cancer awareness, support and research.

Funds for a period of time continue to be collected after a Relay has occurred.

Scheduled for April 1-2 are both the Greater Brandon Relay For Life at Brandon High School and the Seffner/Dover Relay For Life at Burnett Middle School. The Plant City Relay For Life is scheduled for April 8-9.
