Loss Doesn't Dampen Brandon Homecoming Game, Court Festivities

Neither the pre-game rain nor the Brandon football team's struggles against the Sickles High School Gryphons did much to dampen the homecoming spirit on display at McLane Stadium on Sept. 28.

The Gryphons won the game (37-14) before a larger-than-typical crowd, on hand to witness the halftime festivities, including the presentation of the homecoming court.

Meanwhile, student government officials and parents were busy decorating the school for the homecoming dance tonight, Sept. 29. The school each year is transformed into a work of art depicting the homecoming theme, which is under tight wraps until students arrive at the school.

"This past week the entire student body voted on who they wanted to represent Brandon High School as the 2012 homecoming king and queen out of the senior court candidates," noted the announcer at the Sept. 28 game.

The winners were to be announced at the homecoming dance.
