Hillsborough Schools End Winter With a Spring Break

The Hillsborough County School District is on spring break March 12-17, with public school students returning to classes March 19. Once they return, the 2011-12 school calendar has only 58 days left of classes.

Spring is yet to have sprung but Spring Break is here, with Hillsborough County schools closed the week of March 12.

That means when students return to the nation's eighth-largest public school district, techinically it still will be winter (but only for a day).

But that's pretty much a moot point in Florida, where spring-like temperatues (even summer) have been pretty much the order of the day. Temperatures for the week of Spring Break predicted to be in the 80s during the day and in the 60s at night, with sunny skies, some clouds and only, at most, a slight chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service.

Students return March 19 for the final leg of their journey through the 2011-12 school year.
