What’s cooking in area schools for the week of April 9?

First, some quick facts to know about the Hillsborough County School District lunch program:

• Breakfast in the Hillsborough County School District is free to all students. The cost for lunch for elementary school students is $2.25. The cost is $2.75 for middle and high school students.
  
  
• Daily breakfast entrees for elementary school students include Assorted Fruited Yogurt with Granola and General Mills Cereal With Graham Bears.
  
  
• Milk choices are low-fat, one-half percent strawberry, one-half percent chocolate, or skim. Choice of 100 percent fruit juice or fruit.

• Value Meal lunch entries include a choice of up to three sides and a milk selection.
• Premium Meal lunch entrees come with a choice of up to two sides and/or choice of milk. The entrees are Chicken Supreme Sandwich, Big Daddy Pizza, Munch n' Dip, Rice Bowls and Entree Salads.
• Daily sides at the middle and high school levels include Assorted Fruit, Garden Salad, Sun Chips, Pretzel Twists, 100 percent fruit juice, lettuce, tomato and pickle and gelatin.
• Upon request, vegetarian entrees will be provided. Also accommodated are special dietary needs, with such things as gluten-free entrees. Contact your school's student nutrition manager.
