Armwood Marches On With Blowout Win Over Hillsborough

The Armwood Hawks at Hillsborough High School on Monday night, Sept. 16, scored a decisive 37-2 win. So far this season, in just three games, Armwood has scored 117 points, giving up only 14.

Armwood faced the Terriers, who are 0-2 overall. Hillsborough's national ranking is 2,037; its state ranking, 129, according to MaxPreps.com. The Terriers this season lost to Jefferson (28-23) and Armwood.


Meanwhile, under head coach Sean Callahan, the Hawks are undefeated three games out. They are ranked 1,000 in the nation and 72 in the state, according to MaxPreps.com. Callahan, on Sept. 21, 2012, registered his 200th victory as head coach of the Hawks in a 49-0 win against the Leto High Falcons.

The Hawks have been on the road all season, their first home game scheduled for Friday, Sept. 20, against Robinson (0-3). Game time is 7 p.m. The Hawks ruled triumphant over Durant (48-6) on Aug. 30 and over Blake (32-6) a week later.

Armwood High School is at 12000 U.S. Highway 92 in Seffner.
