Brandon vs. Chamberlain: Eagles Scores Another Win

The Chiefs are on a tear, the Eagles are looking to gain their footing. Their football face-off is in Brandon tonight, Sept. 27.

Scoring its second win of the season, the Brandon Eagles left Chamberlain High with its second loss of the season. Final score: Eagles, 14; Chamberlain, 6.

"The Eagles ran the ball 40 times, racking up first down after first down, allowing the offense to dominate tempo and time of possession," according to a Tampa Bay Times report on game coverage.

Next up for the Eagles are home games against Middleton (Oct. 4), East Bay (Oct. 25) and Plant City (Nov. 1). Brandon hits the road for contests against Durant (Oct. 18) and Berkeley Prep (Nov. 8).

Looking for their second win of the season, the Brandon High School Eagles host the Chamberlain Chiefs at home tonight, Sept. 27. Game time is 7 p.m.

The Eagles face the Chiefs, who are 3-0 in district play and 3-1 overall. Chamberlain's national rank is 5,505; its state rank, 291, according to MaxPreps.com.

The Eagles (0-1 in league play and 1-3 overall) are ranked 8,029 in the nation and 389 in the state, according to MaxPreps.com. The Eagles' sole win of the season was against Blake (18-6). Losses this year were to Bloomingdale (21-0), Riverview (28-21) and Strawberry Crest (46-0).  

As for their opponent, the Chiefs in four games have scored 113 points, giving up only 20. Chamberlains's victories have been over Gaither (28-0), Leto (43-6), Lennard (28-14) and King (14-0).
