Oct. 11 Football: Friday Night Lights Burn Bright For 3 Local Teams
Armwood remains undefeated while Newsome and Strawberry Crest pick up wins.
Friday night lights burned bright for Eastern Hillsborough County teams, with Armwood, Newsome and Strawberry Crest scoring a collective 107 points in their Oct. 11 wins. Together, the three teams forfeited 10 points.
Undefeated Armwood roared over Leto with a 74-0 point shutout while Bloomingdale lost a one-pointer to East Bay. Both Brandon and Spoto high schools had a bye this week while Durant fell by 6 to crosstown rival Newsome, their first matchup since the Wolves handed the Durant Cougars their first defeat last year in playoff action.
Also on the losing end Oct. 11 were the Riverview Sharks, with a 24-7 loss to Strawberry Crest.
Collectively, the four losing teams in Eastern Hillsborough County scored 43 points while giving up 84.
