The kitchen/pantry was renovated with grants from Bank of America and Walmart. The new design allows the clients to shop for themselves.

The grants also allowed ECHO to install reach-in refrigerators for storage of fresh produce, eggs and margarine.

At the nonprofit, clients facing emergency needs receive seven days' worth of food (fresh produce, lean meats, eggs and nonperishables) for themselves and everyone in their family.

It's the second ribbon-cutting for ECHO over the past nine months. In September, a ceremony was held to celebrate the newly opened ECHO Client Service Center.
