Black Friday shoppers, thanks to Black Friday merchants, cut short their Thanksgiving Day stay-at-home plans with early shopping Thursday. The slate of sales continues Friday, Nov. 23. Here's a sampling of what's on tap.

Who's waiting for Black Friday anymore? You'd have to be hiding under a rock not to know that retailers nationwide and back home in your neighborhoods are opening their doors early to holiday shoppers.
There's a new trend afoot, and it's gaining momentum: the Black Firday sale on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. Count among the participating merchants your local Walmart, where Black Friday shoppings starts 8 p.m. today, Nov. 22. Online deal shopping began early Thursday morning at Walmart.com, where "your map to Black Friday savings" also is available. Of special note is a 10 p.m., one-hour "in-stock guarantee" for the following items, available only in stores: Other Black Friday sales include a $279 HP laptop, $198 Emerson 40" HDTV and $688 Vizio 60" LED Smart TV. The Super Target in the Greater Brandon area of Riverview is set to join the Black Friday shopping craze with deals starting as early as 9 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. That would be Thursday, Nov. 22.
Hours before the Westfield Brandon shopping mall opens at midnight Thanksgiving Day, the Super Target on Bloomingdale Avenue is set to open its doors, with select Black Friday savings, at 9 p.m. Nov. 22. Additional Target doorbusters will go on sale Friday, Nov. 23, at 4 a.m. Super Target is in the Greater Brandon area of Riverview, at 10150 Bloomingdale Ave. Kathee Tesija, Target's executive vice president for merchandising, said in a news release: "We heard from our guests that they look forward to kicking off their holiday shopping with deal-hunting on Thanksgiving night. Love it or hate it, Black Friday is the super bowl of shopping. And with its arrival only mere days away, Tampa Bay is abuzz with people talking about the potential savings stores big and small have to offer. Some people create their own Black Friday “game plans” on what stores to hit and when after they've poured over the announced bargains various retailers have to offer. There are those so keen on saving they set alarms to wake them up in the wee hours of the night.
