Greater Brandon high school seniors are invited to apply for a first-ever $5,000 scholarship established by The Right Fit Foundation. Hillsborough and Pasco county students have been invited to apply for the award, which reportedly will be given to students from middle-income families. These families, said foundation founder Kenneth Albert in a news release about the scholarship, "often do not qualify for need-based financial aid and borrow more on average to pay for college." The Greater Seffner Area Chamber of Commerce is set to hold its annual banquet on Sept. 11, a chance to celebrate as well Patriot Day, "by remembering those who died or were injured during the attacks of 9/11." So reads the announcement from Lori Libhart, chamber president, who notes as well the Aug. 9 deadline for nominations for the four Chamber Choice Awards. The awards are given at the annual banquet to Business of the Year, Non-Profit Organization of the Year and Member of the Year.
