Brandon Ballet Schedules 'Ballet Variations' Lecture at The Regent
Brandon Ballet Artistic Director Octavio Martin will be joined by Yaima Franco, the company's ballet mistress, in delivering a lecture on how pre-professional dancers are coached for national ballet competitions.
The Brandon Ballet continues with its lecture series, with a Jan. 16 talk about how pre-professional dancers are coached in classical and contemporary ballet variations for national ballet competitions. The "Ballet Variations" lecture, by Octavio Martin and Yaima Franco, the ballet company's artistic director and ballet mistress, respectively, will be delivered at The Regent, at 6437 Watson Road in Riverview, in the southwest corner of the Winthrop community in Greater Brandon, south of Bloomingdale Avenue and east of Providence Road. The free lecture, open to the public, is set to run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Reservations are not required and there is no cost to attend.
