Brandon Ballet 'Nutcracker' Coming to Spoto High in Riverview
The Brandon Ballet company returns to the stage for its annual holiday production of "The Nutcracker," with Dec. 8 and 9 performance dates at the Spoto High School auditorium in Riverview.
The Brandon Ballet will present four performances of "The Nutcracker," featuring new choreography by Octavio Martin, the company's artistic director. Show dates for the seasonal ballet, featuring music by Tchaikovsky, are Dec. 8 and 9. The production features local dancers, professional dancers, lavish costumes and scenery "and a score that will leave audiences dazzled," according to a company events announcement. The ballet tells the story of Clara, a little girl on the eve of Christmas, who receives from her mysterious Uncle Drosselmeyer a wonderful gift — a wooden toy nutcracker.
