Who Robbed the Rodeo Store in Dover at Gunpoint?

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office seeks the public’s help in determining the identity of an armed robber wearing a hooded Hollister jacket caught in action on surveillance camera Dec. 28 at Rodeo in Dover.

  Armed with a handgun, a man wearing a hooded Hollister jacket reportedly demanded cash and fled with an undisclosed amount of money from the Rodeo store in Dover on Dec. 28, according to a report from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. The armed robber reportedly entered the store, described as a discount department store, at approximatley 7:25 p.m., then demanded money from a clerk. "While the clerk retrieved the money, the suspect directed two other employees to lie on the floor," the report notes. Since 1980, Christmas Lane on Wooten Road has grown in size and stature. These photographs show why the 1.5-acre Christmas village display in the Greater Brandon community of Dover has become a must-see regional attraction.

  Christmas Lane on Wooten Road in Dover has grown from its humble beginnings in 1980 into an elaborate display of lights, props and settings, drawing visitors from the Greater Brandon and Plant City communities and beyond. Christmas Lane facts and figures, noted on signs in the village, give testament to the heart and soul, and the painstaking time and commitment, necessary to bring the village to life during the final month of the year. Lane Wetherington told Brandon Patch in 2011 that he was 5 years old when he first strung lights around his father's farm. Christmas Lane A Must-See Seasonal Display in Dover

Christmas Lane is a 1.5-acre display of lights, props and seasonal sights founded in 1980 and manned by hundreds of volunteers. Admission is free, donations are welcome, Santa has hours and the Christmas tree takes six men and eight hours to assemble.
