Durant Football: Against Tampa Bay Tech in Regional Quarterfinals (Nov. 16)

The undefeated Durant Cougars vie for their first prep playoff win, facing the Tampa Bay Tech Titans at home, in Plant City, at the Ron Frost Stadium. The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) regional quarterfinal games kicks off at 7:30 p.m.

  The undefeated, Class 7A-District 8 champs, the Durant High School Cougars, take aim for a state crown tonight, Nov. 16, with the opening game of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) playoff season. The Class 7A-Region 2 quaterfinal game, at the Ron Frost Stadium in Plant City, kicks off 7:30 p.m. against the Tampa Bay Tech Titans. Durant faces the Titans (7-3 overall, 4-1 in league play), ranked nationally and in the state at 1,771 and 122, respectively, according to MaxPreps.com. The Cougars (10-0 overall, 5-0 in league play) are ranked 462 in the nation and 35 in the state, according to MaxPreps.com. Durant's Perfect Season Record Celebrated on the Field, in the Stands

Excitement and focus on the field and in the stands built throughout the night Nov. 9 as the Durant High School Cougars faced the King High School Lions for the final game of the 2012 season. Durant now stakes claim to a perfect season.

  The Durant High School Cougars made history Nov. 9 with the school's first perfect season, capped with a shutout win (31-0) against the King High School Lions. Here's a look at life in the stands, on the field and from the sidelines at the game that cement's this moment in time for the Durant community. It was the last home game of the season for the Brandon High School Eagles, who hosted the Plant City Raiders at E.F. McLane Stadium on Oct. 26. Life in the stands and from the sidelines are caught in these photos, snapped under the Friday night lights.

  Snapped under the Friday night lights at McLane Stadium in Brandon, on Oct. 26, are these photographs of life in the stands and from the sidelines at the Brandon Eagles versus Plant City Raiders football game. The Eagles fell two points shy of their second victory of the season while the Raiders tied their season up at four wins and four losses, including, in league play, two wins and two losses. Prep Football: Cougar Plays, Queen's Crowning, Hawk Band Moves and More

The Armwood Hawks beat the Strawberry Crest Chargers on Oct. 12 while the Durant Cougars dominated the Chamberlain Chiefs. Life on and off the football field is captured in these Brandon Patch photos and videos.

  Friday night football in Eastern Hillsborough County included the Oct. 12 contests between Armwood and Strawberry Crest and between Durant and Chamberlain. Both Greater Brandon area teams won: It was homecoming for the Durant Cougars and senior night for the Strawberry Crest Chargers, where the bands faced-off after fourth-quarter play. Durant Crowns a Queen, Homecoming Draws a Crowd

The 2012 Homecoming Queen was crowned on the football field at Durant High School on Oct. 12 before a large crowd there to see the Durant Cougars continue their domination with a sixth win in the team's undefeated season.

  Morgan Heartsfield was crowned 2012 Homecoming Queen at the Durant football game Oct. 12 before a crowd there to witness the third shut-out win in the Cougars' undefeated season. At the game, fans, players and cheerleaders sported the color pink to signify their support of October Breast Cancer Awareness Month. "It feels great," said Sydney Robinson, about her school's domination on the football field this year. "I'm really looking forward to them going to the playoffs. This is my last year so I'm looking forward to going as far as we can in football and competitive cheerleading." Armwood Football: Hawks Face Chargers at Strawberry Crest in Dover

Game time Oct. 12 is 7:30 p.m. for the Armwood High School Hawks. They travel to Dover to face their crosstown rivals, the Strawberry Crest Chargers.

  The Armwood Hawks, following last week's fourth-quarter win against Sickes (20-16), travel to Dover tonight, Oct. 12, to face the Strawberry Crest High School Chargers. (Meanwhile, the Brandon Eagles travel to Plant and the undefeated Durant Cougars celebrate homecoming, with a game against the Chamberlain Chiefs.) Armwood faces the Chargers (0-2 in league play, 2-3 overall), ranked nationally and in the state at 4,973 and 275, respectively, according to MaxPreps.com. Armwood Football: Hawks Score Late-Game Win (20-16) Over Sickles

The Armwood Hawks are undefeated in league play (3-0) and 5-0 overall following the team's 20-16 win over the Sickles Gryphons at Lyle Flagg Field in Seffner on Oct. 5.

  Armwood Hawks Head Football Coach Sean Callahan told his team in a post-game huddle that "everything that could have gone wrong went wrong" in the first half of the team's 20-16 last-quarter win over Sickles, at home Oct. 5. In an interview with Brandon Patch following that huddle, Callahan added, "There was no question we would be okay if we could settle down, and we did." The Hawks entered this week's Friday night, conference-game contest with a come-from-behind win the week before against Jefferson. The Dragons held a 21-7 lead going into the third quarter of play, before dropping the game 21-35. Brandon at Newsome Falls Short Again, Loss Streak Extended to 5

The Brandon Eagles lost their fifth game of the season with a 35-13 upset at Newsome High School on Oct. 5. Brandon has yet to win a game this season.

  Newsome on its home turf in Lithia extended its win streak to three games with an Oct. 5 upset over the Brandon Eagles (35-13), who went home with their fifth loss in as many games this football season. It was the second conference game for both teams. Newsome is 2-0 in league play and 3-3 overall. Brandon, respectively, is 0-2 and 0-5. Following a rain-delay start, the Eagles took to the field after a 37-14 loss to Sickles the week before.
