Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash Leaves Skateboarder Seriously Injured

A traffic crash in the southbound lanes of Providence Road sent 29-year-old Jonathan Redding to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Redding was riding a skateboard when he was struck on Providence Road. The motorist was taken into custody.

  A 29-year-old man is fighting for his life after a motorist reportedly struck him and fled the scene, in the southbound lanes of Providence Road, just north of Providence Ridge Boulevard. The accident occured Dec. 6 at about 12:09 a.m., according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Jonathan Redding, 29, of 1229 Coolidege Drive in Brandon, reportedly suffered "life-threatening injuries and was transported to Tampa General Hosptial." The Brandon motorist, Ronald Cineas, 29, of 1817 Sterling Palms Court, Apt. 203, was taken into custody and charged with leaving the scene of a crash with serious injury and driving while license suspended. Driver in Fatal Plant City Hit-And-Run May Be Illegal

Immigration officials put a detainer on Timoteo Gabriel DeJesus after he was arrested following a crash that killed 16-year-old Brandon Michael Sullivan of Plant City, the AP reports.

The driver who is charged in a hit-and-run that killed a Plant City teenager may be an illegal immigrant, according to an ABC Action News report via The Associated Press. U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement put a detainer on 23-year-old Timoteo Gabriel DeJesus after he was arrested late Monday, according to the AP. Police said DeJesus struck Brandon Michael Sullivan, 16, and Erick Gonzalez, 15, with his 1995 Lincoln Town Car as the two boys were walking to a convenience store at Turkey Creek Road and State Road 574. Sullivan, of Plant City, was found dead at the scene. Gonzalez, of Dover, suffered a broken leg and was released from the hospital Tuesday, TBO.com reports. Investigators Release Vehicle Description from June 12 Fatal Crash

Hillsborough deputies are still searching for the driver who hit James Beaupierre's motorcycle on 78th Street.

  On Friday evening, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office released a description of the suspect vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run earlier this month in Palm River. James L. Beaupierre, 46, of Tampa, was killed in the early hours of June 12 when his motorcycle was involved in a crash on 78th Street at 50th Avenue. (See, Brandon Patch, “Deputies Seek Vehicle in Deadly Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Crash.”) According to deputies, Beaupierre was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene. The driver fled the scene in what deputies are now saying was an early ‘90s model Cadillac Sedan Deville or Coupe Deville.
