‘Armed and Dangerous’ Robber Sought in Plant City Credit Union Robbery

The Plant City Police Department seeks the public’s help in finding William David Mounts, who allegedly robbed the GTE Federal Credit Union on James L. Redman Parkway on Feb. 12. Mounts reportedly has “a violent criminal history."

The Plant City Police Department is asking for the public's help in tracking down a man who robbed the James L. Redman Parkway Branch of the GTE Federal Credit Union on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at around 5:25 p.m. Plant City detectives, with the help of the Polk County Sheriff's Office and probation and parole officers have identified the suspect as William David Mounts, 32. He is considered "armed and dangerous" and has "a violent criminal history," according to the police report. "Anyone coming into contact with Mounts should not attempt to confront him, but report his location to the police immediately," the report notes. Detectives believe Mounts still is in the area. The Plant City Police Department seeks the public’s help in finding the armed robber who reportedly stole money Jan. 15 from the BP gas station at 2010 North Wheeler Street in Plant City.

The Plant City Police Department seeks the public's help in apprehending an armed robber who fled with money stolen from the BP gas station at 2010 North Wheeler St. in Plant City on Tuesday, Jan. 15. According to the report, at about 4:38 p.m., the thief, a white male, waited for patrons to leave the store, then, brandishing a handgun, "approached the counter with an 18-pack of Busch beer. "He pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded she give him the money from the register," the report notes. "The clerk complied and the suspect fled from the scene on foot." Hit-and-Run Crash Victim Dies, Driver Arrested

The Plant City Police Department reported the death of Basila Santana, 75, who died in a hit-and-run accident on Airport Road on Oct. 22. Arrested in the crash was Edilmar Palacio-DeLeon, 35.

  The death of a 75-year-old woman involved in a hit-and-run accident today, Oct. 22, could lead to a more serious charge for the driver, who reportedly fled the scene, according to a report from the Plant City Police Department. The accident that caused the fatal injuries to Basila Santana, 75, occurred Oct. 22 at about 11:07 a.m., according to the police report. Santana and two other passengers in her car were reported at the time to have sustained serious injuries. Santana was transported to South Florida Baptist Hospital, where "serious internal injuries" were discovered, according to the report. She was airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, where she "died during surgery." Former Students React to Arrest of Bloomingdale Teacher for Trying to Hire Hitman

Bloomingdale High School teacher James Pepe was arrested Sept. 27 for attempting to hire an undercover detective to kill fellow teacher Robert Meredith.

It just didn’t sound like the same teacher Jessica Kramer had for history at Durant High School in the spring of 2007. “I was shocked,” said Kramer upon hearing that Bloomingdale High School teacher James Jules Pepe, 55, of 1850 Providence Lakes Blvd., Brandon, had been arrested for solicitation to commit first-degree murder. “It’s very odd," said Kramer. "I can’t imagine Dr. Pepe doing anything like that. He was always nice and approachable. He was a good teacher.
