The doors are open at two new anchors on State Road 60. LA Fitness at Brandon Boulevard Shoppes and Ross Dress for Less at Valrico Commons.
Open for business are long-awaited anchors at two of Valrico's busiest shopping centers, across the street from each other on East Brandon Boulevard in Valrico. Ross Dress for Less is open at Valrico Commons, at 1901 East Brandon Blvd. (State Road 60), within eyesight of LA Fitness, open at Brandon Boulevard Shoppes, at 1930 East Brandon Blvd. LA Fitness takes the spot vacated by Publix, which moved across the street to the Valrico Commons, where Ross now is in business, in space vacated by Frank's Great Outdoors. The old gas station is down at the corner of Brandon Boulevard (State Road 60) and Lithia Pinecrest Road, across the street from the Oaks Bar & Grill. In its place is an upcoming Thorntons gas and convenience store.
Almost a year ago Thorntons Inc. announced its expansion into the Florida regional metro market, evidence of which now is apparent at the corner of Brandon Boulevard (State Road 60) and Lithia Pinecrest Road. There, across the street from the Oaks Bar & Grill, a Thorntons gas and convenience store is taking shape in place of a previous gas station and car wash. A red sign alerting motorists of the development includes a welcome to join the Thorntons team by visiting www.thorntonsinc.com. According to a company news release dated April 11, the expansion into the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater market was to include the first location, in Clearwater, and to add "15 to 20" stores "in the next three years."
