The action film, Oblivion, opens with Tom Cruise as drone repairman Jack Harper, in a movie showcasing the talents of Joseph Kosinski, director of Tron: Legacy and a producer of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Box-office estimates for April 19-21 show Oblivion to be among Cruise's top openings, with more than $35 million in receipts, according to reported weekend studio estimates. Actual gross was to be reported Monday afternoon, April 22.
