The Greater Brandon Fourth of July Parade kicks off 10 a.m. Thursday at the corner of Lumsden Road and Parsons Avenue. The route for years — except for a night-parade in 2010 — has run this course, traveling north on Parsons before heading west on Robertson Street. The parade ends after crossing Kings Avenue and Buckingham Place, ending in the so-called old Brandon Mall on West Brandon Boulvard, anchored by Publix, MGM Shoes and the Burlington Coat Factory.
