Blessed by a beautiful fall day, nearly 700 people gathered to enjoy all-you-can-eat portions of fish, shrimp, hush puppies, Uncle John's Pride sausage, beer, tea, soda and much more.

The crowd raved at the musical skills of multi-talented enteratiner Reggie Dockens, while the children played on the Camp Florida playground, huge bouncy slide and two-story bouncy castle.

Brandon '86 Rotary Club member Ron Shillady coordinated this year's event.

"Denizens of the Deep ranks as one of Brandon's largest charitable fundraisers and provides people in the Brandon community an opportunity to have a great day spending time together with family and friends," Shillady said.

Local business sponsors and volunteers from recipient charities, Armwood and Durant high school Interact clubs, Boy Scout Troop 1986 and many others pitched in to help raise more than $20,000.

All money raised at the event is dispersed to Brandon-area charities.
