Give the Gift of Art, Help the Less Fortunate, This Holiday Season

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

'Tis the season to be thinking of others and gifts of art or art-related items are a great idea.

Frequent your local gift shops and boutiques — including the — for a wonderful collection of artistic items, especially those created by local artists.

By shopping local you support the community and its residents.

Another great gift idea: tickets to the Barbara Bailey Hutchison concert January 28th at Center Place.

This concert is a fundraiser for Center Place and the Greater Brandon Arts Council (GBAC). Dessert and beverages will be served at intermission. Tickets cost $20 a person.

Consider, too, tickets for the , Feb. 25 at Center Place. Admission is $15, or $25, which includes a year’s membership or membership renewal.

Tickets for both events are available at Center Place or from GBAC board members.    

And don’t forget the less fortunate among us.

Contribute food, toys, clothing and funds to the many groups in the Greater Brandon community that in turn distribute these gifts to the needy in our area.
